Creativity and New Media

New media fosters creativity and in my example, I will post screenshots of a game I used to play many years ago, called Gaia Online. Gaia is an anime-themed social networking, gaming, and discussion forum site that users can participate in.

When you first log in to the site this is what appears on the screen:

You can change your avatar's appearance and clothes by going into their wardrobe: this is where your creativity can run wild. You can buy many of these clothes in the tab labeled "Shops" or in the marketplace where fellow users can either buy, sell, or bid their items in exchange for money.

zOMG! is a game I would play most often. Here, you can play in teams or by yourself to battle monsters and earn additional money or other resources.

Overall, Gaia fosters creativity in that it allows users to create and customize their own avatar.
